Lyda K. Hawes
Lyda Hawes was Operations
and Customer Services Manager of a small local software
company, where she worked for over 12 years, and in many
of those years as a software trainer and training
manager. She currently manages a team of Account
Managers at The Cobalt Group. She has also served in a
church leadership role for five years as a council
member at Spirit of Peace United Church of Christ in
Sammamish, WA, including a year as its Moderator in
2002. Over the years, she has led leadership seminars at
both the regional and national level of the United
Church of Christ.
Lyda is passionate about
balancing and blending the spiritual and secular halves
of leadership in the professional, as well as
church-related, roles lay people often fill.
When she was elected
moderator, she found there was very little in the way of
resources or training opportunities for lay leaders. Her
passion for trying to find a solution to this dilemma
led her to Congregational Leadership Northwest and her
development of the Calling All Lay Leaders seminar.
